LSM11

Description

The LSM11 (LSM11, U7 small nuclear RNA associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

LSM11 is a component of the U7 snRNP complex, which is involved in the processing of histone 3' end pre-mRNA. It binds to the Sm-binding site of U7 snRNA, increasing U7 snRNA levels but not histone 3' end pre-mRNA processing activity when overexpressed. LSM11 is required for cell cycle progression from G1 to S phases.

LSM11 is also known as AGS8.
