AP1S3

Description

The AP1S3 (adaptor related protein complex 1 subunit sigma 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

AP1S3 is a subunit of the clathrin-associated adaptor protein complex 1 (AP-1). AP-1 plays a crucial role in protein sorting within the late-Golgi/trans-Golgi network (TGN) and/or endosomes. AP complexes are involved in the recruitment of clathrin to membranes and the recognition of sorting signals within the cytosolic tails of transmembrane cargo molecules. AP1S3 is known to be involved in the trafficking of TLR3.

AP1S3 is also known as PSORS15, sigma1C.
