ORM1
Description
The ORM1 (orosomucoid 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.
ORM1, encoded by the ORM1 gene, is a key acute phase plasma protein in humans. Its levels increase during acute inflammation, classifying it as an acute-phase reactant. While its specific function is still unknown, ORM1 may be involved in immunosuppression. It has been shown to interact with Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1.
ORM1 is also known as A1AG1, AGP-A, AGP1, HEL-S-153w, ORM.
