ORAI2
Description
The ORAI2 (ORAI calcium release-activated calcium modulator 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.
Protein ORAI2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ORAI2 gene.
ORAI2 is a component of Ca(2+) release-activated Ca(2+)-like (CRAC-like) channels that facilitate the entry of calcium ions (Ca(2+)) into cells. It works in tandem with the calcium sensor protein STIM1 to increase Ca(2+) permeability and current.
ORAI2 is also known as C7orf19, CBCIP2, MEM142B, TMEM142B.
