OR8K1

Description

The OR8K1 (olfactory receptor family 8 subfamily K member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

Olfactory receptor 8K1 is a protein encoded by the OR8K1 gene in humans. It plays a role in smell perception by interacting with odorant molecules in the nose, triggering a neuronal response. Olfactory receptors belong to the large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are responsible for recognizing and transducing odorant signals. The OR8K1 gene is part of the olfactory receptor gene family, the largest in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.

OR8K1 is also known as OR11-182, OR8N1P.
