OR7D2

Description

The OR7D2 (olfactory receptor family 7 subfamily D member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

OR7D2 is a gene that codes for a protein called Olfactory receptor 7D2 in humans. This protein is part of a large family of receptors called G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that are found in the nose. When odorant molecules bind to olfactory receptors, they trigger a signal that allows us to perceive smells. The OR7D2 gene is one of many olfactory receptor genes, which together make up the largest gene family in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.

OR7D2 is also known as HTPCRH03, OR19-10, OR19-4.
