OR7A10

Description

The OR7A10 (olfactory receptor family 7 subfamily A member 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

The OR7A10 gene encodes a protein known as Olfactory receptor 7A10. This protein plays a key role in our sense of smell by interacting with odorant molecules in the nose. It initiates a signal that leads to the perception of a smell. OR7A10 belongs to a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are responsible for detecting and transmitting signals from various molecules. The OR7A10 gene is part of the largest gene family in the human genome, dedicated to our sense of smell.

Odorant receptor.

OR7A10 is also known as BC85395_3, OR19-18.
