OR6T1

Description

The OR6T1 (olfactory receptor family 6 subfamily T member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

OR6T1 is a human gene that encodes a protein called olfactory receptor 6T1. This protein is part of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) involved in smell perception. When odorant molecules bind to olfactory receptors in the nose, they trigger a neuronal response that leads to the perception of a smell. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, and its members are characterized by a 7-transmembrane domain structure similar to other neurotransmitter and hormone receptors.

Odorant receptor.

OR6T1 is also known as OR11-277.
