OR5AU1

Description

The OR5AU1 (olfactory receptor family 5 subfamily AU member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

Olfactory receptor 5AU1 is a protein encoded by the OR5AU1 gene in humans. It is part of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) involved in smell perception. These receptors bind odorant molecules in the nose, triggering a neuronal response that leads to the perception of smell. The OR5AU1 gene is part of the largest gene family in the human genome, with each receptor responsible for recognizing and transducing specific odorant signals.

Odorant receptor.

OR5AU1 is also known as OR14-38.
