OR52K1

Description

The OR52K1 (olfactory receptor family 52 subfamily K member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

Olfactory receptor 52K1 is a protein encoded by the OR52K1 gene in humans. It's involved in the sense of smell, working with odorant molecules in the nose to trigger a neuronal response. This protein is part of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) responsible for recognizing and transducing odorant signals. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.

OR52K1 is also known as OR11-8.
