OR52B6

Description

The OR52B6 (olfactory receptor family 52 subfamily B member 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

OR52B6 is a human gene that encodes the olfactory receptor 52B6 protein. Olfactory receptors are responsible for recognizing and triggering the perception of smells. They belong to a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and share a 7-transmembrane domain structure similar to other neurotransmitter and hormone receptors. This gene family is the largest in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.

OR52B6 is also known as OR11-47.
