OR4C15

Description

The OR4C15 (olfactory receptor family 4 subfamily C member 15) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

The OR4C15 gene encodes a protein, olfactory receptor 4C15, involved in smell perception. It belongs to a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) responsible for recognizing and transmitting odorant signals. These receptors interact with odorant molecules in the nose, triggering a neuronal response that we perceive as smell. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, with each gene encoding a unique receptor.

Odorant receptor.

OR4C15 is also known as OR11-127, OR11-134.
