OR4C13

Description

The OR4C13 (olfactory receptor family 4 subfamily C member 13) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

The OR4C13 gene encodes a protein called olfactory receptor 4C13. This protein is part of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that are responsible for detecting smells. The OR4C13 protein interacts with odor molecules in the nose, initiating a neuronal response that leads to our perception of smell. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.
