OR2L2

Description

The OR2L2 (olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily L member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

OR2L2 is a human gene that encodes the olfactory receptor 2L2 protein. Olfactory receptors are responsible for recognizing and transducing odorant signals through G proteins. They are part of the large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and share a 7-transmembrane domain structure with neurotransmitter and hormone receptors. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome. The gene nomenclature is independent of other organisms.

Odorant receptor.

OR2L2 is also known as HSHTPCRH07, HTPCRH07, OR1-48, OR2L12, OR2L4P.
