OR2B2

Description

The OR2B2 (olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily B member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

Olfactory receptor 2B2 is a protein encoded by the OR2B2 gene in humans. It's part of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) involved in smell perception. These receptors interact with odorant molecules in the nose, triggering a neuronal response that allows us to smell. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome. The naming system for these receptors is independent of other organisms.

Odorant receptor.

OR2B2 is also known as OR2B2Q, OR2B9, OR6-1, dJ193B12.4, hs6M1-10.
