OR13G1

Description

The OR13G1 (olfactory receptor family 13 subfamily G member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Olfactory receptor 13G1 is a protein in humans encoded by the OR13G1 gene. Olfactory receptors are responsible for smell perception by interacting with odorant molecules in the nose, triggering a neuronal response. These receptors belong to the G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) family, characterized by a 7-transmembrane domain structure. They are involved in recognizing and transducing odorant signals through G protein-mediated pathways. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, with its nomenclature independent of other organisms.

Odorant receptor.

OR13G1 is also known as OR1-37.
