OR10X1

Description

The OR10X1 (olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily X member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

The OR10X1 gene encodes for the olfactory receptor 10X1 protein. This protein is involved in the sense of smell by interacting with odorant molecules in the nose and initiating a neuronal response. Olfactory receptor proteins belong to a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) which are responsible for recognizing and transducing odorant signals. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.

OR10X1 is also known as OR1-13, OR1-14, OR10X1P.
