OR10R2

Description

The OR10R2 (olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily R member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

OR10R2, also known as olfactory receptor 10R2, is a protein in humans encoded by the OR10R2 gene. It's part of a large family of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that detect odor molecules in the nose. These receptors bind to odorants and initiate a signal that leads to the perception of a smell. The OR10R2 gene is one of many genes that contribute to the wide range of smells humans can detect.

Odorant receptor. This protein plays a key role in the sense of smell. It binds to odor molecules in the nose, triggering a signal that leads to the perception of a specific scent.

OR10R2 is also known as OR1-8, OR10R2Q.
