OR10P1

Description

The OR10P1 (olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily P member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

Olfactory receptor 10P1 is a protein encoded by the OR10P1 gene in humans. It's a member of the large olfactory receptor family, which interacts with odorant molecules in the nose to initiate smell perception. These receptors are G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) with a 7-transmembrane domain structure, similar to many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors. They are responsible for recognizing and transducing odorant signals through G proteins. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, and its nomenclature is independent of other organisms.

Odorant receptor.

OR10P1 is also known as OR10P1P, OR10P2P, OR10P3P, OR12-7, OST701.
