OR10J3

Description

The OR10J3 (olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily J member 3) is a pseudo gene located on chromosome 1.

OR10J3 is a protein that is encoded by the OR10J3 gene in humans. It is a member of the large family of olfactory receptor proteins that interact with odorant molecules in the nose. This interaction triggers a neuronal response, resulting in the perception of smell. These olfactory receptor proteins are part of the G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) family, which are characterized by a 7-transmembrane domain structure. They play a crucial role in recognizing and transducing odorant signals through G proteins. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome.

OR10J3 is a member of the large olfactory receptor family, which are responsible for detecting odorant molecules and initiating the sense of smell. It binds to specific odorants and triggers a signal transduction pathway through G-proteins, ultimately leading to the perception of a scent.

OR10J3 is also known as OR1-25, OR10J3P.
