OR10H4

Description

The OR10H4 (olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily H member 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

OR10H4 is a gene that encodes a protein involved in our sense of smell. This protein, called olfactory receptor 10H4, interacts with odorant molecules in the nose, triggering a signal that lets us perceive smells. It belongs to a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are involved in recognizing and transmitting signals from various molecules. The olfactory receptor gene family is one of the largest in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.

OR10H4 is also known as OR19-28.
