CLCC1 (Chloride channel CLIC-like 1) is a human gene that encodes a chloride channel protein. This protein is related to the S. cerevisiae MID-1 stretch-activated channel and is found in the membranes of intracellular compartments, including the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. CLCC1 is highly expressed in the testis and moderately in the spleen, liver, kidney, heart, brain, and lung.
CLCC1 appears to function as a chloride ion channel and is involved in retina development.
CLCC1 is also known as MCLC, RP32.
