CERKL

Description

The CERKL (ceramide kinase like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

CERKL exhibits no measurable ceramide kinase activity. However, its overexpression has been shown to shield cells from programmed cell death (apoptosis) when exposed to oxidative stress.

CERKL is also known as RP26.
