NUDT8

Description

The NUDT8 (nudix hydrolase 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

NUDT8 is an acyl-CoA diphosphatase that breaks down a variety of CoA and CoA esters, producing 3',5'-ADP and the corresponding 4'-phosphopantetheine derivative. It preferentially hydrolyzes short- and medium-chain acyl-CoAs, with the highest activity towards free CoA, hexanoyl-CoA, and octanoyl-CoA, and the lowest activity against acetyl-CoA. NUDT8 also exhibits decapping activity towards dpCoA-capped RNAs in vitro.

NUDT8 is also known as -.
