NUDT7

Description

The NUDT7 (nudix hydrolase 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

NUDT7 is a peroxisomal enzyme that hydrolyzes fatty acyl-CoA to produce acyl-4'-phosphopantetheine and adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate. It also cleaves CoA, CoA esters, and oxidized CoA with similar efficiency. NUDT7 exhibits a preference for medium-chain acyl-CoAs and bile acid-CoAs. It does not interact with NDP-sugars, CDP-alcohols, (deoxy)nucleoside 5'-triphosphates, nucleoside 5'-di or monophosphates, diadenosine polyphosphates, NAD, NADH, NADP, NADPH or thymidine-5'-monophospho-p-nitrophenyl ester. NUDT7 may be involved in removing oxidized CoA from peroxisomes or regulating CoA and acyl-CoA levels in peroxisomes in response to metabolic needs. It does not affect U8 snoRNA decapping activity, but it binds U8 snoRNA and exhibits decapping activity toward dpCoA-capped RNAs in vitro.

NUDT7 is also known as -.
