NUDT19

Description

The NUDT19 (nudix hydrolase 19) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

NUDT19 is an enzyme that primarily hydrolyzes fatty acyl-CoA (fatty acid linked to coenzyme A) into acyl-4'-phosphopantetheine and adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate. It can process various CoA esters, including choloyl-CoA, branched-chain fatty-acyl-CoA, and medium/long-chain fatty-acyl-CoA. NUDT19 exhibits a preference for medium-chain acyl-CoA esters and unsaturated acyl-CoA esters over saturated ones. Additionally, it demonstrates decapping activity on dpCoA-capped RNAs in laboratory settings.

NUDT19 is also known as RP2.
