NUDCD3
Description
The NUDCD3 (NudC domain containing 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.
NudC domain-containing protein 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NUDCD3 gene. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability of dynein intermediate chain. When this protein is absent, dynein intermediate chain aggregates and degrades. This leads to mislocalization of the dynein complex from kinetochores, spindle microtubules, and spindle poles, and loss of gamma-tubulin from spindle poles. During interphase, the protein localizes to the Golgi apparatus. Its levels increase after the G1/S transition.
NUDCD3 is also known as NudCL.
