NOMO3
Description
The NOMO3 (NODAL modulator 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.
NOMO3 is part of the multi-pass translocon (MPT) complex, which helps insert multi-pass membrane proteins into cell membranes. The MPT complex takes over from the SEC61 complex, which initially inserts the first few transmembrane segments. Once the MPT complex takes over, it blocks the SEC61 complex's lateral gate, ensuring the insertion of the remaining transmembrane regions.
