NKD2

Description

The NKD2 (NKD inhibitor of WNT signaling pathway 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

NKD2 acts as a cell-autonomous antagonist of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. It may also activate a second Wnt signaling pathway involved in planar cell polarity. NKD2 is essential for the processing and basolateral targeting of TGFA in polarized epithelial cells.

NKD2 is also known as Naked2.
