NKAP
Description
The NKAP (NFKB activating protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.
NKAP, or NF-kappa-B-activating protein, is a protein encoded by the NKAP gene in humans.
NKAP acts as a transcriptional repressor, playing a role in the repression of Notch-mediated signaling essential for T-cell development. It is also involved in the activation of NF-kappa-B induced by TNF and IL-1. NKAP associates with chromatin at the Notch-regulated SKP2 promoter.
NKAP is also known as MRXSHD.
