The NGEF (neuronal guanine nucleotide exchange factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

NGEF (New Government Electrical Factory) was a company established in Karnataka, India in 1956, in partnership with the German company AEG. It was known for its technology and ISO 9001 certification. NGEF had six divisions, including transformers, motors, switchgear, power electronics, semiconductor devices, and mechanical engineering. It was once a leader in pumps, electric motors, and switchgears in Bangalore. NGEF played a significant role in increasing agricultural production by manufacturing pump sets and motors for farms. It also contributed to the Railways Modernisation Programme by executing major contracts for equipping traction substations. Additionally, it manufactured electrical components for the Kolkata Metro Line 1. However, there were allegations against the company involving the transfer of shares, and it declined as a business.

NGEF is also known as ARHGEF27, EPHEXIN.
