NEXN

Description

The NEXN (nexilin F-actin binding protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

NEXN plays a crucial role in regulating cell migration by interacting with the actin cytoskeleton. It is essential for maintaining the integrity of the Z line and sarcomere, structures vital for muscle function. These roles have been observed in studies published in PubMed IDs 12053183, 15823560, and 19881492.

NEXN is also known as CMH20, NELIN.
