STX16

Description

The STX16 (syntaxin 16) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

Syntaxin-16 is a protein encoded by the STX16 gene in humans. It has been linked to pseudohypoparathyroidism type Ib, and its loss results in a loss of methylation at the GNAS1 exon A/B region. STX16 is known to interact with VAMP4.

SNARE protein involved in vesicular transport between late endosomes and the trans-Golgi network.

STX16 is also known as SYN-16, SYN16.
