RPL26

Description

The RPL26 (ribosomal protein L26) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

RPL26 is a human gene that encodes a protein, 60S ribosomal protein L26, which is a component of the large 60S subunit of ribosomes. Ribosomes are organelles responsible for protein synthesis. RPL26 is a member of the L24P family of ribosomal proteins and is located in the cytoplasm. This gene has multiple processed pseudogenes dispersed throughout the genome. It has been shown to interact with the protein Mdm2.

RPL26 is a component of the large ribosomal subunit, which is responsible for protein synthesis in the cell. This protein has been shown to interact with DHX33.

RPL26 is also known as DBA11, L26, uL24.
