NUP93

Description

The NUP93 (nucleoporin 93) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

Nucleoporin 93 (Nup93) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NUP93 gene.

NUP93 plays a role in the nuclear pore complex (NPC) assembly and/or maintenance. It may anchor nucleoporins to the NPC, excluding NUP153 and TPR. During renal development, NUP93 regulates podocyte migration and proliferation through SMAD4 signaling.

NUP93 is also known as NIC96.
