NDRG2

Description

The NDRG2 (NDRG family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

NDRG2 is a protein encoded by the NDRG2 gene. It belongs to the N-myc downregulated gene family, which is part of the alpha/beta hydrolase superfamily. NDRG2 is located in the cytoplasm and may play a role in neurite outgrowth. It has been implicated in glioblastoma and aggressive meningioma carcinogenesis through its influence on cell proliferation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, but the full-length nature of some variants remains unclear.

NDRG2 is also known as SYLD.
