NAALAD2

Description

The NAALAD2 (N-acetylated alpha-linked acidic dipeptidase 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

NAALAD2 exhibits two primary enzymatic activities: N-acetylated-alpha-linked-acidic dipeptidase (NAALADase) and dipeptidyl-peptidase IV. It plays a crucial role in regulating the levels of the neurotransmitter N-acetylaspartylglutamate (NAAG) by inactivating it.

NAALAD2 is also known as GCP3, GCPIII, GPCIII.
