NAA60

Description

The NAA60 (N-alpha-acetyltransferase 60, NatF catalytic subunit) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

NAA60 is an N-alpha-acetyltransferase that specifically acetylates the N-terminal residues of transmembrane proteins, with a preference for cytosolic N-termini. It also acetylates a range of N-terminal sequences, including those starting with Met-Lys, Met-Val, Met-Ala, and Met-Met. NAA60 is required for normal chromosomal segregation during anaphase. It may also have histone acetyltransferase activity, but this requires further experimental confirmation.

NAA60 is also known as HAT4, IBGC9, NAT15, NatF, hNaa60.
