MYL6B

Description

The MYL6B (myosin light chain 6B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

Myosin light chain 6B is a protein encoded by the MYL6B gene in humans. Myosin is a hexameric ATPase cellular motor protein consisting of two heavy chains, two nonphosphorylatable alkali light chains, and two phosphorylatable regulatory light chains. This gene encodes a myosin alkali light chain expressed in both slow-twitch skeletal muscle and nonmuscle tissue.

MYL6B is also known as MLC1SA.
