MUC20

Description

The MUC20 (mucin 20, cell surface associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

Mucin-20 is a protein encoded by the MUC20 gene in humans.

Mucin-20 potentially regulates the MET signaling cascade. It appears to reduce the transient activation of MAPK induced by hepatocyte growth factor (HGF). Additionally, it blocks the recruitment of GRB2 to MET, thereby suppressing the GRB2-RAS pathway. Furthermore, Mucin-20 inhibits the HGF-induced proliferation of MMP1 and MMP9 expression.

MUC20 is also known as MUC-20.
