MTURN

Description

The MTURN (maturin, neural progenitor differentiation regulator homolog) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

MTURN promotes megakaryocyte differentiation by activating ERK and JNK signaling pathways and increasing the levels of RUNX1 and FLI1 proteins. It also suppresses NF-kappa-B activity by blocking phosphorylation of RELA at Ser-536. MTURN may play a role in the early stages of neuronal development.

MTURN is also known as C7orf41, Ells1.
