Description

The MTMR4 (myotubularin related protein 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

MTMR4 acts as a phosphatase, removing phosphate groups from proteins modified at serine, threonine, and tyrosine residues. It also dephosphorylates a small molecule called para-nitrophenylphosphate. Additionally, MTMR4 has a kinase activity, adding phosphate groups to the lipid phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PIP3).

MTMR4 is also known as FYVE-DSP2, ZFYVE11.
