MSMP

Description

The MSMP (microseminoprotein, prostate associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

MSMP acts as a ligand for the C-C chemokine receptor CCR2, triggering its activation and leading to a strong chemotactic response and mobilization of intracellular calcium ions. This interaction specifically attracts monocytes and lymphocytes, but not neutrophils.

MSMP is also known as PSMP.
