MRPL14

Description

The MRPL14 (mitochondrial ribosomal protein L14) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

MRPL14 plays a crucial role in the assembly of the mitochondrial ribosome, forming two intersubunit bridges within the assembled ribosome. However, when MRPL14 interacts with MALSU1, it disrupts the formation of these bridges, preventing the complete assembly of the ribosome and inhibiting translation.

MRPL14 is also known as L14mt, L32mt, MRP-L14, MRP-L32, MRPL32, RMPL32, RPML32, uL14m.
