MIR33B

Description

The MIR33B (microRNA 33b) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 17.

miR-33b is a microRNA that is located within the intron of the sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2 (SREBP2) gene. It is transcribed as a precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA) and processed into a mature miRNA by the Dicer enzyme. miR-33b is highly conserved among mammals and is expressed in a variety of tissues, including liver, adipose tissue, and macrophages.

miR-33b is a microRNA (miRNA) that plays a role in regulating lipid metabolism and cholesterol homeostasis. It targets genes involved in lipid biosynthesis, cholesterol efflux, and lipoprotein metabolism. miR-33b has been implicated in the development of cardiovascular disease and has emerged as a potential therapeutic target.

MIR33B is also known as MIRN33B, hsa-mir-33b, mir-33b.
