MIR155HG

Description

The MIR155HG (MIR155 host gene) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 21.

MIR155HG is a human gene.

miPEP155, a protein encoded by the MIR155HG gene, negatively regulates MHC class II antigen presentation in dendritic cells. It achieves this by interacting with the molecular chaperone HSPA8, hindering its role in lysosomal antigen transport. Interestingly, miPEP155 does not affect the levels or activity of the MIR155HG microRNA from which it is derived.

MIR155HG is also known as BIC, BIC-155, MIRHG2, NCRNA00172, miPEP155.
