SLC9A7

Description

The SLC9A7 (solute carrier family 9 member A7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

SLC9A7, also known as Sodium/hydrogen exchanger 7 or Na(+)/H(+) exchanger 7, functions as a Golgi Na(+), K(+)/(H+) antiporter. This means it facilitates the movement of sodium (Na+) or potassium (K+) ions into the Golgi apparatus in exchange for hydrogen (H+) ions, maintaining electrical neutrality. This exchange process is believed to play a role in regulating the volume and pH of the Golgi apparatus.

SLC9A7 is also known as MRX108, NHE-7, NHE7, SLC9A6.
