ERF

Description

The ERF (ETS2 repressor factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

ERF or ERF may refer to:

ERF acts as a potent transcriptional repressor, specifically binding to the H1 element within the Ets2 promoter. This interaction potentially regulates other genes involved in cellular proliferation. Furthermore, ERF is crucial for the differentiation of extraembryonic ectoderm, the closure of the ectoplacental cone cavity, and the attachment of the chorioallantoic membrane. Evidence suggests that ERF may also play a role in regulating trophoblast stem cell differentiation.

ERF is also known as CHYTS, CRS4, PE-2, PE2.
