TSFM

Description

The TSFM (Ts translation elongation factor, mitochondrial) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

The TSFM gene encodes for Elongation factor Ts, mitochondrial, a protein found in humans. It is a homolog of EF-Ts.

This protein facilitates the exchange of GDP to GTP in the EF-Tu.GDP complex. It stays attached to the aminoacyl-tRNA.EF-Tu.GTP complex until GTP hydrolysis takes place on the ribosome.

TSFM is also known as EFTS, EFTSMT.
