RPIA

Description

The RPIA (ribose 5-phosphate isomerase A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

This enzyme facilitates the reversible conversion of ribose-5-phosphate into ribulose 5-phosphate. This reaction constitutes the initial step within the non-oxidative branch of the pentose phosphate pathway.

RPIA is also known as RPI, RPIAD.
